Waves

The howling wind excites the mind
As gasping breath it prickles skin
And lingers there upon the nape
With sinister intent

Upon forbidden shores at night
Exquisite stone transforms the flesh
And chilling liquid under foot
Is creeping ever inward

Passing under light caress
A shell of delicate delight
Held against the warm embrace
With tender loving care

Water foams in willingness
Waiting for a heightened gust
Closing in it hunts the senses
Building ever higher

Kneeling at the waters edge
With an intense indulgence
We blissfully anticipate
The waves come crashing down
