Goldfish in a Puddle

Brightest gold held in rippling ink
Whirling and swirling the sodium slur

Patiently dwell in a torn pavement pocket
Shimmering scales in a shallow abode

Solitary gleam on the rain soaked street
Hiding a shoal of fiery embers

Wind primed camouflage works it’s sway
Aquatic Houdini amazing the eye

Each puddle a pool and a fish within
Each fish a figment but a sight no less
