The Mind Game (Dual Authorship with DaveP)

The inspiration came as I lay in bed
Like the lover slipping into my head
Whispering into my conscious thoughts
Ideas of dreams and quick retorts

Into the depths The Wanderer came
Were his intentions wild or tame?
To cast into my opened mind
This fisherman wondered what he’d catch

I wondered too as I sensed his presence
Entering me but under what pretence?
I let him come, I couldn’t resist
The burning thought would only persist

He talked me through the dead of night
Using his body with all his might
This body of text describing the scene
This writers habits were never clean

The pen is mightier than the sword
Both blade and quill in working accord
So as I lay there, inspiration in hand
My mind on a matter and feeling grand

Quickening pulse as I’m climbing the summit
Ascending the peak before the inevitable plummet
I gasp to the heavens and cry out his name
Bringing the end to this glorious game
