No pun intended or so you say
Your social circle laughing away
Suave and sophisticated you act
Playing the jester after the fact
Fools follow the greatest fool
The pied piper in the yard at school
But here you sit in a circle of smiles
Laughing with you all the while
Spinning your tales with humour unique
Eye your fans with glances oblique
Is it your voice that keeps them charmed?
Certainly your demure keeps them smarmed
Could it be money bought the smiling respect?
Another talent as your humour’s suspect
Drugged and delinquent you’ve got them all rapt
Hanging on words as though gravity’s cracked
I listen a while then cast you aside
Before you encompass me into your stride
